Who they are
The Social Sensibility R&D Department is a project founded by the artist Alessandro Rolandi that brings together socially engaged art and sociological fieldwork. Its laboratory is an unusual place for art: the factory.
For more than ten years it has brought contemporary artists to work inside the companies of the Bernard Controls group, in Beijing, Paris-Gonesse and Milan-Rho, together with workers and employees. Performances, workshops and small everyday gestures become opportunities to look at work with new eyes and to create bonds between different cultures.

On Artistwall the project documents more than ten years of activity in almost a hundred records: the WORK / LIVE 干活 projects, the artist residencies and the collaborations. The pages present the team, the method and the collaboration with the Bernard Controls company; a timeline follows the events.
