Gianfranco Pardi (Milan 1933–2012) was a painter and sculptor, one of the leading figures of Italian abstraction. His works, often in painted steel, build light architectures of lines and planes, crossed by diagonals and by an idea of space that opens up and moves.
Series such as Architetture, Diagonali and Giardini pensili are in dialogue with Cézanne's painting and with the movement of dance. The Archivio Gianfranco Pardi protects and promotes his work: it catalogues and certifies it, organises exhibitions, publications and research and is preparing the catalogue raisonné.
