The history

With its theatrical façade, the Villa Reale in Monza is an architectural jewel rich in history. Walking through its rooms you can still sense the Austrian influence, Napoleonic grandeur and the Risorgimento majesty of the House of Savoy, who chose it as their summer residence.

State rooms

From the octagonal Atrio degli Staffieri to the imposing Ballroom, the marvellous Sala degli Uccelli, once decorated in the “Chinese” fashion of the time, and the room for official dinners: these are the State rooms, all richly decorated by great artists and decorators over the centuries.

Private apartments

The private rooms of Umberto and Margherita are the result of the work of the Court Architect Majnoni d'Intignano, who adapted them to the taste of the time, seeking to recreate in the redecoration of the interiors the splendour of the golden century of the European monarchies and of the prestigious royal residences of the eighteenth century.
